"Maybe All I Am Is Who I Was."

I have been in NY since June 23.

In that time I have obtained a job at Wilhelmina Models and now Hillary, Kate and I are moving into our apartment on Lexington next weekend. I can't believe it's going to be October already.

I miss Pittsburgh and the people who made it an okay place to live. I will be back to visit the first weekend in November. Let me know if you are around and would like to get together!

12:30PM - Live from New York...

What's up, ya'all?

I dunno who reads this anymore -- I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a livejournal.com comeback... back in its heyday, everyone was updating like 12 times a day.

I have safely arrived here in New York, however I am unemployed. I have a really great sublet in Astoria, Queens -- this will be cheaper than traveling from Pittsburgh and back everytime I have an interview.

Speaking of interviews I had one at Wilhelmina yesterday which went well -- she said I could expect a call for a second interview from them soon. I have a interview at a brand new management company next week... and I am getting in touch with a temp agency that specializes in placing people in the entertainment industry... so we'll see how things turn out.

Sunday, April 23, 2006

So, in fact, chances are I won't be in the city of Pittsburgh in a month from today. After years and years of planning and scheming I will finally be in New York.

College is winding down and I'm about to bow out. I think about when I was just starting and who I was and who I am now and wonder how I was somehow molded into a completely different person. But at the same time, not so completely different -- I guess I just look at everything a little differently.

One again, life for me will change and never be the same and I'm ready for it. But, the people I will miss... some of them I doubt I will see again. I know that I will think of these past four years and smile and be thankful that I had such a great, life altering experience. I wouldn't change a thing.

I got there.

Good news in the home front...

I have two job interviews in New York next week...

The first is to be an agent's assistant at The Endeavor Agency which reps A-list celebs like Ellen DeGeneres and Matt Damon.

The second is at CESD which is the world's largest commercial agency, the department I would be assisting in works with a lot of dancers casting them in commercials for Old Navy and I pod.

I'm soooo excited. I get to see Hillary.. Who I haven't seen since October!

Hopefully, I come home with good news!! Wish me luck.

I was at a party in Oakland the other night and one of my ex rez (the kid who lived in the room next to mine last year) was telling me about how he used to listen to me and Scott have sex. This came in just when I thought he couldn't get creepier...

Also, at this same party:

(a) I decided that I love Mia and she undoubtedly loves me back

(b) My suspicion that I cannot speak Spanish fluently (or at all) was confirmed as I decided to engage a hot latin dancer in conversation and all I kept saying was "puedo ir el bano."

(c) K. Rossi and I had a dance duet and everyone cheered. We were so Danny and Cha Cha...

(d) Natalie Sullivan was my hero when she removed the slugs from the premises.

Jeff from Izzazu had no idea what I was going through when he began cutting my hair very carefully -- he wanted me to let him cut it a few times before we had it at just the right length and texture and it could be proclaimed "kickass."

Then a little more than a week after that salon visit -- I decided to buzz my head. It turned out to be one of the most empowering experiences of my life as I watched the hair fall. Now I look like a far more tan version of G.I. Jane.

If you are ever having a rough time in your life, I'd suggest a buzz cut as therapy.

Now that the shitty part of the summer is over, here's what I plan on doing with the remaining month:

1) Re-read The Chronicles of Narnia

2) Devote most days to Pearlann Porter's next big show's PR (it's going to be hot).

3) Hit the gym up as much as possible.

4) Just keep swimming.

Hi ya'll.

I have been going through an interesting stage of life. I guess I have actually, officially, positively entered adulthood.

My job has been so stressful lately. Today was the hardest day there so far -- I guess we are approaching the busy season for the Pittsburgh modeling market.

What have I been up to other than work?

I hung out with Feras and Brekim a few times at 5681 aka New York, New York.

I was made the Mayor of Munchkin land at a child's birthday party.

I got a haircut at Izazzu for free.

I got to go to the premiere of Land of the Dead.

Tuesday, June 14, 2005

Nothing too spectacular going on with me...

Lots of work!

More Feras than usual.

Summer classes start in a couple weeks..

Yesterday was our six month!

Sunday, May 15, 2005

Long before Whitney Houston or gay club music entered my life -- I was listening to the alternative - TOP 40 stuff of the mid 90's. I have recently rediscovered some of my favorite songs from way back in my high school days and as I listen I am taken back to a time when I had no clue of what was to come.

Here's what I have been listening to:

"Shine" by Collective Soul
"Mr. Jones" by Counting Crows
"Hey Jealousy" by the Gin Blossoms
"Push" by Matchbox 20
"The World I Know" by Collective Soul
"Slide" by the Goo Goo Dolls

My very favorite song from then -- "Name" by Goo Goo Dolls!

Hi guys!

Things are going really well, I'm kinda still getting the hang of this 9 - 5:30ish thing! Waking up when everyone else does is cool sometimes... the weather has been absolutely gorgeous and I can't play it -- that's the only thing that sucks about my job.

Other than that -- I LOVE working at Docherty!! Everyone is fantastic. My job is fun, a little stressful sometimes, but fun. I help book runway shows, photo shoots, commercials -- you name it, I do it. I am the sole booker for all promotional work we do. It's really cool, I couldn't have asked for a better job and I'm not done with school yet!

The living arrangement on the South Side is smoothing out and that's good.

Talk to you all later.

Saturday, April 30, 2005

My room is a mess! Which isn't unusual, but this time it's half boxed up. I'm going to start get my move on tomorrow and probably totally peace out on Monday night after work.

Most of me residents are gone and not coming back to live here -- so thanks to all the original 10-spotters! I'm going to miss all your drunk, loud asses. Ha. =)

Scott is moving to Oakland tomorrow. It'll be different not being able to just go up six floors...his show opens soon. Yay. Lori will probably hand me my program.

I've been thinking about a lot of old school people thhat I haven't heard from in a minute. Like Bryson, he just popped into my head the other day. I'd love to hang out with Kristen or Kris or Trevor or Shawn or my old roomie, Dan over the summer... hit me up, you guys, we'll grab a drink.

Monday, April 25, 2005

Scott and I had a great weekend together.

Saturday we went and saw Ghetto Superstar, Billy Porter's one man show, at the City Theater. It was excellent, even if his powerhouse voice was a little raspy. Interestingly, there is an archived entry in this journal involving Mr. Porter. Kristen, you'll remember this.

After the show we went to Station Square and ate at the Sesame Inn (voted best Chinese food in Pittsburgh).

Then we went to a Point Park party (which we rarely do) -- and there behind the bar area in the basement was a "VIP" room ( the area designated for weed smoking) and out of that room walks Josh Beadle. Ha.

Today and tomorrow, I am devoting to finishing up papers and preparing for finals. Then on Wednesday, I start at Docherty full time! Yes!

Also, next week I will be leaving campus and making my move over to a house on the South Side... I still don't know how I feel about moving there -- but I already agreed to sublet.

Thursday, April 21, 2005

Last Friday I was offered a job as an assistant agent at the Docherty Agency -- I will be working in the print division (with the models).

Tomorrow I will go in and seal the deal.

It's a full-time job that I will have to balance out with going to school full-time this coming fall (my last semester).

Three months -- healthcare kicks in

Six months -- I become a licensed agent.

Wednesday, April 13, 2005

I always seem to crunch all of my major school work into the last two weeks of the semester... so I'm about to be busy as all hell.

Some fun and exciting news --

I am going to do PR for Pearlann Porter's ( a jazz and tap teacher here at school) Pillow Project Dance Company this summer! Which I am really excited for because I will have a chance to actually use what I have learned.

Also, I have an interview with the Docherty Agency on Friday for an internship/job.

As you can clearly tell, I am VERY busy.
